Guide to Fix Cheque Scanning Common Errors Print

These are the three common errors faced during Cheque Scanning and ways to fix them.


You may perform the following tasks to determine if there are issues with the scanner, specific system settings or driver issues that may be causing the problem.


Error: Object doesn’t support this property or method

Reason: Internet Explorer Settings are set to default. Please follow or advise your technical team to update the Internet Explorer Settings as follows:

  • Go to Internet Explorer
  • Click on Tools
  • Click on Internet Options

Internet Zone

  • Go to Security -> Internet -> Custom Level
  • Enable all .net framework
  • Enable all Active X Controls and Plug-ins
  • Click on Ok

Trusted Sites

  • Go to Security -> Trusted Sites -> Custom Level
  • Enable all .net framework  
  • Enable all Active X Controls and Plug-ins
  • Click on Ok

Under Trusted Sites, click on Sites and add the below


Error: Machine Dead.

  • Check if the power button on the scanner is blinking blue
  • Check if the status of the scanner is received and accepted
  • Click on the Smart Source Manager icon on the taskbar.
  • Once the command prompt window pops up, check if the device status is: Received and Accepted.
  • If the status is showing as time-out expired, check the firewall settings for the USB port (Must be enabled)
  • Once the above checks are done, restart the machine and login again to iBusiness
